The journey so far
Peabody, one of the largest housing associations in London, has purchased the former Stamping Plant site, Dagenham, which has now been named Dagenham Green. We are seeking to deliver 3,502 new homes here, of which 1,550 will be affordable, in addition to a secondary school, local shops and restaurants and a five-acre public park.
In September 2021 we submitted an application for our Dagenham Green masterplan; we are now seeking to submit a Reserved Matters application for the detailed design for Phase One of Dagenham Green in May 2022.
This website will outline the proposals of Phase One of Dagenham Green which will bring forward just under a third of the new homes, a third of the public spaces and 1,600sqm of non-residential space.
Our vision for Dagenham Green
We want to hear your thoughts on Phase One of Dagenham Green
Thanks to all who filled in the survey during the consultation for the proposed plans for Phase One of Dagenham Green. The survey is now closed and the project team are working through your comments
As one of London’s largest housing associations, Peabody is responsible for more than 67,000 homes across the capital.
Since opening our first estate in 1864, Peabody has continued to adapt to the changing needs of Londoners and remained an innovative force in delivering affordable, sustainable homes for over 100,000 people.
Formerly home to the iconic Ford Factory, this site was once at the heart of a bustling community of workers. Today we want to reflect the area’s rich history by creating a new community at Dagenham Green – one that celebrates Dagenham’s past while working together to shape its future.
